RESEARCH GROUP ON ARTHROPODS AND VECTOR-BORNE DISEASES

We are a versatile team of 15 scientists and professionals specializing in animal and human medicine, as well as environmental studies, working under the One Health approach. Our group has extensive experience in monitoring arthropod vectors of diseases and identifying and assessing risk factors for emerging arboviruses and parasitic infections.

• We employ modern molecular and serological techniques to conduct research and provide valuable insights to combat the global threat posed by vector-borne pathogens such as West Nile virus, Usutu virus, phleboviruses, and leishmaniasis.
• We operate an insectary equipped to conduct tests and experiments with disease-carrying mosquitoes.
