Objetivos:

The objectives of the third REINFORCING call are to support organisations and territories across Europe in transitioning towards a new paradigm of research and innovation (R&I) based on responsibility and openness. This entails developing R&I practices that are fairer, more sustainable, and socially satisfying. The aim is to engage all stakeholders, including citizens, in collaborative R&I processes to ensure inclusive and equitable green and digital transitions.

Alcance esperado:

Some specific activities that may be proposed include:
Training and capacity-building in multi-stakeholder engagement in Research and Innovation (R&I) processes within the context of EU Missions.
Designing and implementing co-creation processes to develop solutions/services derived from R&I processes within the context of EU Missions.
Citizen consultations related to policy design or the co-creation of solutions linked to EU Missions.
Participatory identification of policy priorities related to EU Missions where R&I plays a significant role.
Twinning activities or exchanges of best practices in multi-stakeholder engagement in R&I processes within the context of EU Missions.
Future scenarios or visioning workshops with multi-stakeholder groups, including citizens, that contribute to R&I processes and/or policies within the context of EU Missions.
Designing and implementing engagement strategies for R&I processes and/or policies within the context of EU Missions that are accessible and inclusive, fostering an environment where all voices are heard and valued.

Resultados esperados:

The call focuses on supporting consortia that contribute to the European Missions within the European Union's Horizon Europe programme. These missions address key challenges for the future well-being of Europe and the planet. The five main missions include:
• Adaptation to Climate Change
• Cancer Prevention and Treatment
• Restoration of Our Oceans and Waters
• Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities
• Soil Health and Food
The aim is to engage multiple stakeholders, including citizens, in the design, implementation, and evaluation of these missions to enhance their effectiveness and foster inclusivity and public ownership of R&I processes.

Requisitos:

The consortium must include at least two entities based in EU countries (Member States or Associated Countries), including their outermost regions or eligible Associated Countries for Horizon Europe grants.
The lead applicant must have little to no prior experience in participating in EU Missions.
Projects must be carried out within the context of one of the EU Missions, and project actions must contribute to achieving the objectives of these Missions.
Projects are expected to consider and implement specific gender-related activities (ideally extending them to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and comply with Horizon Europe's Open Science requirements from the proposal stage.
Funded projects are expected to release at least one ORRI (Open and Responsible Research and Innovation) resource to be included in the REINFORCING online platform.
