A Delegation of Chinese Universities Visits UEx

On Monday, 16 December, a Research Meeting was held in Badajoz as part of the visit by a delegation from Chongqing Education University, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and Chongqing Jiaotong University in China. The goal of the meeting is to strengthen collaboration in research areas such as food, cancer, and information and communication technologies, paving the way for future specific agreements.

Last July, the Panda Institute was established through an agreement between the University of Extremadura and Chongqing Education University (China). This educational and cultural project aims to deepen the relationship between the two institutions and foster continued cooperation, particularly in academic and cultural exchanges, through support in training, research, and outreach activities.

This week, representatives from Chongqing Education University (UEC), Chongqing Jiaotong University (CJU), and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CUPT) are visiting the University of Extremadura.

As part of this visit, a Research Meeting was organised to enhance collaboration in key priority areas for the visiting delegation: research in food, cancer, and information and communication technologies. The goal is to advance the development of specific future agreements.

This meeting, organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer with support from the European Projects Office (OPE) of the Extremadura System for Science, Technology, and Innovation, featured the participation of María de Guía Córdoba, Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer at the University of Extremadura; Mercedes Rico, Vice-Rector for Academic Planning; and Alicia González, Vice-Rector for Students, Employment, and Mobility.

Additionally, representatives from the Institute of Meat and Meat Products Research (IProCar), the University Institute for Agrarian Resource Research (INURA), the Biosanitary Research Institute of Extremadura (INUBE), and the University Institute for Research in Applied Information Technologies (INTIA) were present, as well as Javier Berrocal Olmedo, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation.

The Chinese delegation was represented by Shi Xi, Vice-Dean of the Big Data Faculty at Chongqing Education University (UEC); Hu Hua, Director of the International Cooperation Department at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CUPT); and Xu Houzhi, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department at Chongqing Jiaotong University (CJU).
