Innovative tools and services to manage and empower energy communities

The Horizon Europe call HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D3-20 aims to develop innovative tools and services to manage and empower energy communities. Projects should integrate smart home and building assets using IoT standards, enable local energy trading and peer-to-peer transactions, and improve participation in energy markets. Expected outcomes include enhancing renewable energy integration, ensuring secure data exchange, and fostering cross-sectoral synergies (electricity, heating, mobility). Solutions must be tested in at least three diverse energy communities across Europe, with active participation of citizens, local governments, DSOs, aggregators, and manufacturers. The call emphasizes open-source tools, AI-based forecasting, and platforms for cooperation, aligned with EU policy goals and SSH (social sciences and humanities) involvement. Opening date: 16 September 2025; deadline: 17 February 2026.

Innovative pathways for low carbon and climate resilient building stock and built environment (Built4People Partnership)

The Horizon Europe call HORIZON-CL5-2026-02-D4-03, under the Built4People Partnership, focuses on developing innovative pathways for a low-carbon and climate-resilient building stock and built environment. The aim is to accelerate the uptake of sustainable solutions that improve energy performance, circularity, resource efficiency, climate resilience, safety, and adaptability while reducing whole life carbon emissions. Proposals must design and validate scalable planning methods in at least three countries with different climates, include renovation cases, and involve diverse stakeholders such as municipalities, citizens, and the construction sector. Social sciences and humanities expertise is also required to ensure societal impact. The call opens on 16 September 2025 and closes on 17 February 2026.
