-New research and transferable skills and competencies, leading to improved employability and career prospects both within and beyond academia.
-New knowledge enabling the conversion of ideas into products and services, where relevant.
-Enhanced networking and communication skills with scientific peers as well as the general public, increasing and broadening the impact of research and innovation.
At the organisational level:
-Improved quality, relevance, and sustainability of doctoral training programmes and supervision mechanisms.
-Greater cooperation and knowledge transfer across sectors and disciplines.
-Increased integration of training and research activities among participating organisations.

All Doctoral Networks (DN, DN-ID, DN-JD):

-Researchers are recruited for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 36 months. They must be enrolled in a doctoral programme and work full-time on the project.
Industrial Doctorates (DN-ID) and Joint Doctorates (DN-JD):
-Each beneficiary separately employs a researcher for the time they spend at their premises.
For DN-ID, recruited researchers must spend at least half of their time in the non-academic sector and a maximum of one-third on secondments.
For DN-JD, all recruited researchers must be enrolled in a joint, double, or multiple degree programme awarded by at least two participating MS/AC organisations.
Funded researchers must be doctoral candidates, meaning they must not hold a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment. Researchers who have successfully defended their doctoral thesis but have not yet formally obtained their doctoral degree are not eligible.
Mobility Rule: Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the recruitment date. National service, short stays such as holidays, and time spent as part of a procedure to obtain refugee status under the Geneva Convention are not taken into account.
For European international research organisations, international organisations, or entities established under EU law, recruited researchers must not have spent more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to their recruitment date in the same appointing organisation.
