Expected Scope:

MSCA Staff exchanges involve organisations from both academic and non-academic sectors (including SMEs) worldwide. Support is provided for international, intersectoral, and interdisciplinary mobility of research and innovation (R&I) personnel, enabling knowledge transfer between participating organisations.
Mobility through secondments
The organisations within the partnership directly contribute to the implementation of a joint R&I project through the temporary assignment and/or hosting of eligible staff members. Such projects should explore activities that build on previous work but go beyond it, fostering or strengthening long-term collaborations. Secondments must involve the physical on-site mobility of eligible staff members and must always occur between legal entities that are independent of each other.
MSCA Staff Exchanges can address three dimensions of mobility: international, intersectoral, and interdisciplinary. While exchanges between organisations within EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries should primarily be intersectoral, exchanges within the same sector are also possible, provided they are interdisciplinary. Interdisciplinarity is not required for exchanges within the same sector involving non-associated countries.
Secondments between institutions located in non-associated countries or within the same EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country are not eligible.
The collaborative approach of MSCA Staff Exchanges should leverage the complementary competencies of the participating organisations and create synergies between them. Secondments must be essential for achieving the R&I activities of the joint project. Among other objectives, the project should facilitate networking activities and the organisation of workshops and conferences to enable knowledge exchange and test innovative approaches to specific R&I topics.
Skills Development
For participating staff members, the project should provide opportunities to acquire new skills and professional development perspectives. Participating organisations must ensure that seconded staff receive appropriate mentoring.

Expected Results:

For staff members:
-Enhanced research and transferable skills, leading to better employability and career prospects both within and beyond academia.

-A more entrepreneurial mindset, fostering the testing of new and innovative ideas.
-Greater international exposure, resulting in expanded networks and opportunities.
-Improved communication and networking abilities with scientific peers as well as the general public, amplifying and broadening the impact of research and innovation.
For participating organisations:
-Innovative forms of cooperation and knowledge transfer across sectors and disciplines.
-Strengthened and expanded collaborative networks at international, intersectoral, and interdisciplinary levels.
-Boosted research and innovation (R&I) capacity.
